Interesting

It has come to my attention again lately how important the word interesting is.  We are conditionaed in life to form an opinion about any and everything we come across.  When we hear someone express themselves our subconscious is constantly on alert and making decisions about whether we think they are right or wrong.  We are on guard to decide about everything that comes into our awareness.

Several years ago I had a wonderful teacher who encouraged us to look at everything in our lives as interesting rather than making a decision about whether it was good or bad, right or wrong.  It is truly one of the most liberating experiences to release the need to make decisions about anything.  Someone may do something to hurt your feelings and rather than say they are rude or uncaring we can just look at their behavior as interesting.  Something can happen that is so inhumane and we can look at it and decide it is interesting.  What is it that makes all these things happen in our lives?  We are bombarded with so much information.

There are many things in life that we cannot control but we can control our reaction to what confronts us.  We hear such bad news on TV today and many times it is hard for me to keep a positive attitude when I  constantly hear how bad things are.   We have to develop practices that will help us release the pain and sadness and lift us to a higher level of consciousness and awareness.  So for me I will try to remember to say that is interesting.   Isn't that interesting?
